Professional Educators
& Artists in Residence
Friends of Wisconsin Singers underwrites the cost of hiring professionals in the fields of arranging, choreography, and instrumental and vocal music to produce a Broadway-caliber show that entertains audiences of all ages and musical tastes. Students have the unique opportunity to work alongside music industry professionals while developing their own individual and ensemble skills.
The show that our professionals create is unlike any other. Communities throughout the state and nation welcome family-friendly entertainment marked by entertainment excellence as representatives of the Wisconsin Idea.

Free Performance Workshops for K-12
More than 1,000 young people from diverse backgrounds and musical experiences work in clinics with the Wisconsin Singers each year. These workshops cover everything from stage presence to instrumental jazz to creating a shared performance and provide positive collegiate role models.

Hands-on Internship, Leadership Opportunities that Builds Strong Resumes
Each year, Friends provides scholarship dollars that help underwrite the cost of offering hands-on internships and student staff leadership opportunities. These positions are aimed at involving students in exceptional leadership experiences unlike any other at the UW Madison campus. FoWS also facilitates providing professional mentors to guide these interns and teach them how to articulate themselves in a variety of settings.
